Matrix Motorsport forms innovative BTCC partnership with Senna Proctor and Power Maxed Racing

Press Information - 23rd January 2018

Matrix Motorsport, the latest team to reveal its intention to join the fiercely competitive ranks of the Renault UK Clio Cup, is pleased to confirm that it has formed an innovative and forward-looking partnership with British Touring Car Championship driver Senna Proctor and his team Power Maxed Racing.

This new association will provide Matrix Motorsport and its sponsors with increased brand exposure at each of this season’s 10 race meetings, with identity appearing on Proctor's Power Maxed Racing Vauxhall Astra. The tie-up will also create a stepping-stone towards Matrix Motorsport’s goal of competing in the BTCC, as Team Principal Jeff Alden explains:

“It’s no secret that our long-term aim is to compete in the BTCC and this exciting new association with Senna and Power Maxed Racing means we now have a link with one of the championship’s highest profile teams. It will provide our sponsors and us with an excellent connection to the BTCC grid and an increased presence at the meetings.”

The tie-up between the two teams has come via Proctor, who has recently been confirmed as one of this year's Power Maxed Racing’s drivers. Consequently, a key benefit of the association means that the current holder of the prestigious Jack Sears Trophy for Rookie BTCC drivers will be assisting Matrix Motorsport with its driver development as it enters its first full season of racing:

“My Father has a long-standing relationship with Matrix Motorsport team manager Dave Hayes, so I'm extremely pleased we have been able to put this two-way package together”, said Proctor. “Having competed in the Clio Cup, I know from my own experience that it provides a great platform for drivers who want to move into touring cars, so I can see how this new association will benefit everyone involved.”

Matrix Motorsport is planning to hold an official launch day at the end of February for media, guests and corporate partners. The event will be used to confirm the team’s final driver line-up, its sponsors and livery.
